    It’s never too late to learn how to drive!

    Before you schedule any road trips and hit the open roads in Texas, you must first pass your driving test to earn your Driver’s License. Are you ready? A Addison Driving School will help you get behind the wheel! We are an authorized and state-approved Third Party Skills Testing (TPST) school and we can provide an Adult Road Test for interested applicants aged 18 years old and above. Provided that you complete all of the requirements and qualifications, you may be eligible to take the Adult Road Test.

    Requirements and Qualifications

    To be eligible for the Adult Road Test, you must meet the following requirements and qualifications
    • You must be 18 years old and above, with a pictured and valid Learner’s Permit. You must have also completed the Impact Texas Young Drivers (ITYD) program.
    • You must present your ITYD Completion Certificate along with other required driver education certificates. The ITYD Certificate must be dated within 90 days of the scheduled test appointment. Complete ITYD requirements can be viewed at https://impacttexasdrivers.dps.texas.gov/.
    • If you don’t have a Learner’s License and are aged 25 years old and above, you may take the written skills test provided at the Department of Public Safety. The written exam is provided during the 6-hour class required for adults aged 18-24 years old. After completing the course, you will have to proceed to the nearest Department of Public Safety office for processing.
    • You must complete an approved 6-hour driver education course. Note: Testing for a learner’s permit from the DPS is not necessary when you have successfully completed an approved course.
    • If you are using your own vehicle for the test, it must meet all requirements – the vehicle’s registration must be current; it must have 2 license plates; have proof of current liability insurance (in paper format); and it must meet all of the vehicle safety requirements set by the Department of Public Safety.

    • A valid Texas learner’s permit
    • Impact Certificate(ITYD) dated within 90days of the skills examination

    What to Expect

    Your appointment will be scheduled as soon as possible – dates and times of testing are provided at convenient periods to fit various schedules. When scheduling your test, make sure that you have met all of the requirements and qualifications, and that you have a working vehicle. Make sure that you know all of the basics of vehicle control and road signs and signals.

    Note: Don’t forget to bring all of the listed requirements and qualifications, otherwise, you may be unable to take the test.

If you are ready to earn your license and enjoy the freedom of driving, A Addison Driving School is here to help. We are authorized and certified to schedule and administer Teen Road Test for teenagers between the ages of 16–24. No matter where you took your basic driver’s education or wherever you live in Texas, you may take the road test provided that you meet the requirements and qualifications.

    Requirements and Qualifications

    To qualify for the Teen Road Test, you must meet the following requirements and qualifications:
    • You must be between the ages of 16 to 24 years old.
    • You must have a valid Texas Learner License. Note: You cannot take the test prior to the 6-month date indicated on the back of your permit.
    • You must have a Certificate of Completion for an Online Driving Course, a Teen Driver Education Course, or a Parent-Taught Course.
    • You must have completed and signed a 30-hour training log.
    • Your parent or legal guardian must be present during the Teen Road Test.
    • Your car must have a valid registration, license plates, registration sticker, and insurance card (if you are using your own vehicle for the test).
    • You must have watched the Teen Impact Video prior to testing.
    • You must have an Impact Certificate (ITTD) dated within 90 days of the examination.
    • You must secure a school letter and VOE (valid 30 days). Parent-teachers or guardians must be present for signature.
    • You must secure DE-964 forms (for driver’s license only).

    Required Documents- Teen Road Test

    • Adult Road test(16-17)
    • A valid Texas learner’s permit
    • Impact certificate(ITTD) dated within 90 days of the skills examination
    • DE-964 Forms
    • School Letter – VOE(Valid 30 days). Parent/guardians must be present for signature.
    • Have logged 30 hours of driving practice outside of the driver education program(30 hours log)

    What to Expect

    We strive to schedule all Teen Road Test at the soonest time possible – we don’t like to keep our examinees waiting. Appointments for testing are available most days and at convenient times to fit your schedule. We are able to schedule testing appointments promptly, eliminating the long wait period and hassle of dealing with the DMV.

    Note: Don’t forget to bring all of the listed requirements and qualifications, otherwise, you may be unable to take the test.

    A Addison Driving School provides Teen Road Tests but ONLY the Texas Department of Public Safety can issue your Driver’s License. Once you pass the Teen Road Test, you still need to proceed to the DPS to have your details and picture taken so that you can actually have your Texas Driver’s License.

    Standard Teen Package Starting at $399

    Student’s must be 14 years old to enroll in classroom and must be 15 years old to obtain a learner’s permit for In-Car-training. All programs include minimum of:
    • 32 Hours of Classroom Instructions (16 – 2 hours per day sessions)
    • 7 Hours of In-Car Driver (Behind-the-Wheel) Training
    • 7 Hours of In-Car Observation
    • Permit testing (rules, signs, and vision)
    • 10% Savings on auto insurance premium (approximately)
